Casio has officially introduced its second-generation CRW-002 digital ring watches to the United States, shrinking the iconic design of its long-running A168 wristwatch down to a finger-worn timepiece priced at $155.
Departing from the G-Shock styling used on the first-generation CRW-001, the CRW-002 lineup comes in two full-metal finishes: the plain stainless steel CRW-002D-1A and the gold-aesthetic CRW-002G-9A. Casio manufactures the enclosures using metal injection molding, blending fine metal powder with resin to form the miniature chassis. Dimensionally, each piece measures 25.2 x 18.2 x 6.2 mm and weighs approximately 15 grams.
Rather than functioning like a contemporary smart ring loaded with health sensors, the CRW-002 is dedicated entirely to classic digital timekeeping. The miniature module packs dual-time capabilities, a 60-minute stopwatch, a calendar, 12- and 24-hour formats, an LED backlight, and Casio’s Time Flash feature, which flashes the display light on the hour or at a user-configured time.
Each ring watch runs on an SR621SW coin battery providing up to two years of operational life, maintaining a factory accuracy rating within 30 seconds per month. Casio noted that the rings feature basic water resistance suitable for daily wear, though an exact depth rating has not been specified, and official retail availability details have yet to be announced.
