Louis Vuitton has expanded its vintage-inspired Monterey collection with two new non-limited ceramic models priced at $22,900. The release follows last year’s 18k gold debut, introducing scratch-resistant ceramic cases at less than half the price of the precious metal predecessor.

The Monterey Ceramic features a 37-millimeter lugless case paired with a steel caseback and a domed sapphire crystal, offering 50 meters of water resistance. Louis Vuitton is offering the watch in polished black ceramic paired with a white time-only dial, as well as polished deep green ceramic with a matching green dial and yellow hands. A steel crown finished with Clous de Paris texturing sits at the 12 o’clock position, producing a symmetrical, pebble-like silhouette reminiscent of a classic pocket watch.

Inside the case beats the LFT MA01.02 automatic movement, developed and manufactured at Louis Vuitton’s La Fabrique du Temps facility in Geneva. In addition to standard wrist wear, the watch case can be detached from its leather strap and mounted to a leather tag, allowing wearers to fasten it to clothing or bags like a traditional pocket watch.

The Monterey is modeled after the quartz-powered LVII, a rare timepiece Louis Vuitton originally released in 1988. While the modern mechanical version is slightly thicker to accommodate the in-house movement, it retains the 37mm diameter of the archival original.
