Nvidia and AMD have poured a combined $4 billion into Meta under new strategic partnerships designed to expand the tech giant’s artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Nvidia accounted for the largest portion of the capital, committing $3 billion to Meta alongside plans to broaden collaboration on Meta’s Muse family of AI models. Under the terms of the deal, Meta will expand its deployment of Nvidia’s Vera Rubin and Vera CPUs, Spectrum X Ethernet networking, and BlueField-4 DPUs. Nvidia indicated that the two companies are also evaluating additional technical tie-ups, including Nvidia Sentry data monitoring and the Nvidia OpenShell Reference Architecture.
AMD announced its own agreement just one day later, committing a $1 billion investment into Meta. The multi-faceted deal covers CPUs, GPUs, networking, software, and systems for Meta’s AI build-out. AMD noted that its Helio rackscale solution will power Meta’s frontier models and services, positioning AMD hardware as the primary compute engine for Muse with Day-0 support for upcoming Meta models.
The multibillion-dollar commitments come as hardware vendors and tech giants deepen mutual spending across the enterprise sector. While AI demand previously drove Nvidia’s market capitalization past $5 trillion, the market has faced volatile swings, including recent trillion-dollar market drops and an ongoing hardware squeeze that continues to push up memory, graphics card, and storage costs for PC consumers.
