Motorola is directly targeting premium smartphones with the launch of the Edge 70 Max, pairing upper-echelon hardware with an expansive 7,100 mAh battery at a price tag well below $1,000. Retailers online have also already begun offering substantial discounts on the device only a few weeks following its market debut.

The device’s central highlight is its substantial battery capacity, which Motorola managed to fit into a relatively slim, lightweight build. According to testing by Notebookcheck, the 7,100 mAh cell lasted just under 28 hours in a continuous Wi-Fi benchmark, which translates to roughly two full days of intensive everyday use. Driving the device is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset capable of rendering games at 4K resolution and running demanding apps without performance bottlenecks.

Constructed with glass and aircraft-grade aluminum, the chassis surrounds a 6.82-inch screen bordered by slim bezels. The panel reaches peak brightness levels of up to 1,345 cd/m² and delivers solid overall color accuracy, despite minor color reproduction flaws observed in light grays and whites. For mobile photography, Motorola equips the phone with an ultra-wide lens and a primary camera powered by a Sony Lytia 710 sensor, providing capable everyday shots while trading off the extended zoom capabilities seen on higher-priced competitors.
